Presents for West

The shower post for West got so long, I decided to do a separate entry for the presents I made him. I really got busy crafting for this little man! Up first, I made month onesies for West. I got the idea from this Pin. I cut the fabric out with my cricut then ironed it on. I chose three different fabrics that I rotated over the twelve months. Tomorrow is his four month birthday & Andie has taken his picture in the onesies each month! I would share them with you, but her internet connection is out in the boonies & doesn't work real well, so she hasn't sent them to me yet!
I used heat transfer vinyl to do the numbering & wording. I think they ended up SOO cute! I couldn't go to her shower in Ozona, so this is the gift I sent for her. Apparently it was a hit at the shower :)
If you have Pinterest, you'll probably know where this quote came from. I've seen this Pin pinned by almost everyone I am friends with, including my cousin Andie. Good reason, it's pretty awesome! I couldn't afford it, so I made my own. I glued 3 1x4s together, painted them blue & then white washed it. I loved the look but then remembered the walls in West's room were the same blue. I wanted it to stand out on the wall, so I used the chocolate around the edges to create a border & age it, all at the same time. I cut all the words out of vinyl with my cricut. It was time consuming, but so worth it!
She was so surprised to see it sitting on the table for her :)

I made this sign for West's room out of a cabinet door. I first painted it blue, then chocolate, and then distressed. I cut out his name with my cricut and used it as a stencil. Love it!
All in all, everything for West's shower was really great!! I'm glad Andie enjoyed it!

A Shower for Baby West

We had a baby shower for my cousin Andie in November. After cruising Pinterest, & knowing how much she loves chocolate chip cookie dough, we decided to go with a cookies & milk shower for her baby boy. I took different parts of the decorations from pins by Bump Smitten & Design Dazzle.
I am super proud of how our table turned out! Everything edible was made by myself, my mom & my aunt Eileen. For cookies we had chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, krinkles, scotchies, a ritz/chocolate/pb cookie that we made up the name chocolate delight and peppermint cookies.

We found an eggless chocolate chip cookie dough recipe for the mother-to-be. Not a great picture, but this was probably one of her favorite things at the shower!
These awesome milk containers came from IKEA. We had whole, skim & chocolate. I pushed for strawberry but was outvoted :(
Here's the drink set up. We used Mason jars & fun striped straws!
We also had Blue Bell ice cream! Sugar free vanilla, home style vanilla & finally a strawberry! We got the idea to put them in cupcake liners from this Pin. Very cute!
A close up of a cookie jar :)
I made this sign for his room out of a cabinet door. Multipurpose- decoration & gift!
Love how the banner turned out!
My sister-in-law Teria made this diaper wreath. Isn't it cute?!!
Enough decorations, now fun! We had several activities at the shower. The first- create your own onesie! Grab the onesie of your choice off the clothesline,
a seat, a fabric paint pen & get busy creating! On the right is the grandmother-to-be & her sister.
This is the beautiful mommy-to-be. I think she made more than anyone :)
 This was her first onesie
This was one of my favorites!
Before the shower, we had some of the men related to Andie create a onesie for a game at the shower. Andie had to guess who made which onesie & everyone at the shower voted for their favorite. It was really fun!
This onesie was made by my dad, Andie's Uncle Sam. Andie's husband actually does hunt lions.
This was made by my brother, Andie's cousin, Cody. Very cute play on the name!
Guess who made this? That's right, the dad-to-be, Clay
This was made by Andie's dad, Fletcher.
And this was made by my husband, Drew. Yes, all by himself. Of course it was my favorite, but I didn't get to vote.
And the winner is....
My husband, of course!! I guess hanging around me really pays off :)
The last thing we did at the shower was advice for the new parents. We had chalk boards for the guests to write their advice on & I took their picture with it. I then (ok, I haven't done it yet but I will!) had them all put together into a shutterfly book for Andie & Clay. Here are a couple of my favorites:
 Andie's mom
 Andie & her dad
My mom
And of course, me! because what do I know about babies?!
Good news- because I am 6 months behind on this blog, I get to introduce you to West. Here he is, completely perfect with his parents, Andie & Clay.
Congratulations guys!!

A crafty summer

I'm sorry it's been so long! I have had such a busy end of summer both work & personally, I have barely been in my kitchen, let alone had time to share with you what I've been up to! I think it's best to just show you :)

We took a family road trip to Louisiana for 4th of July weekend to visit my grandparents. My niece Jolie rode with us, so of course she needed a special outfit for all the pictures we planned to take!
This is the view from the back.

I think it turned out really cute! And she looked adorable in it!

Later in July, a friend from work asked me to make these tshirts for her daughter & friends to wear to church camp. Love the colors they chose!

I'm thinking I might make one for myself when I slow down!
I have an obsession with ruffles at the moment, so I made myself a lamp! I intended to make two & put them in my living room on either side of my couch. But, as I tried it out in my bedroom, I decided that was where it was destined to go!

I love the soft, satin ruffles! It totally girlies-up my side of our chocolate & blue bedroom! I will probably be making more of these...
Gifts for baby Emmy. Some of my very favorite things I've made!

I absolutely love the front of this onesie. How cute will she be with that flower e?

This is the back of the e onesie.
Like I said, obsessed with ruffles! Doesn't this make you want a ruffle butt? Okay, it does me!
This is the first bib I've embellished. Very quick & easy but super cute!

A custom diaper wipes case to match!
A close up of Emmy, which is short for Emaline.
I also made this bow holder for Emmy. They used it as at the shower.
Here's a purple and black bow holder that I made for my sister-in-law.
Meet my nephew Cade! I made this cute little watermelon shirt for him for a very important cause. We participated in the Watermelon Run for the Fallen, a 5K walk/run for fallen soldiers. They didn't have shirts for babies, so of course Aunt Kelly had to make sure he had something to wear!
Here are both of my favorite little people!
I've also been making some little tie onesies for my friend Amanda's little boy Archie but I was in a hurry & didn't take pictures! Here's one I stole off her blog The Parr Family Adventures

Isn't he the cutest?!!

Okay, I think that gets me pretty caught up on crafts for the summer!! I did have one flower cupcake order & a back to school apple adventure for Drew that I will be posting ASAP! Stick with me, I'm back in town & back in the kitchen!
